Product catalogs must exhibit an attention to detail and craftsmanship in keeping with the products they display. This two-year catalog was no exception. The brand has been an institution for 75 years, due in large part to the lifetime warranty the company includes with every product. The Riverside Group was tasked with helping ensure the end product properly represented the brand.

UV coating makes the lighters "POP" off the page

This catalog features collections of newly-redesigned lighters; each page includes highly-detailed photographs that show off the artwork on each lighter. With a two-year life cycle, this catalog required a binding method that wouldn’t compromise strength and durability.

We suggested PUR adhesive binding, which would securely hold each page despite the heavy ink and coating coverage. Semi-opaque flysheets were placed on the inside front and back covers as an extra decorative measure; PUR adhesive can ensure even these types of stocks are bound securely.

To bring out as much detail as possible from each photo, we applied a UV gloss coating that let the lighters “pop” from the page. Our offline UV coating process allows us to finely-tune the amount and placement for intricate, registered spot UV coating.

The shape of the catalog itself further enhances the brand. Once the catalog was bound and trimmed, finished books were then die-cut to achieve the trademark arch of the windproof lighter. Three-hole drilling was also performed to allow dealers to place the catalog in a ring binder.
