The Riverside Group Adds Significant UV And Laminating Capabilities
New York Bindery Responds to Customer Demand with Six New Machines
Rochester, N.Y. - The Riverside Group, a full-service bindery and finisher located here, has recently added a total of six new pieces of equipment, including two ultraviolet (UV)-compatible screen printing and coating lines and four film laminating machines, to its already formidable equipment lineup. The installations include two high-speed Sakurai/ Svecia screen printing presses. Both presses are capable of flood, spot and dimensional UV coating using a variety of UV inks.

“UV coating is a great way to make many products more attractive and scuff-resistant, and these presses are among the most versatile in the industry,” said Fred Daubert, Vice President. “In addition to tinted, matte, gloss and satin finishes, we can perform scratch-off and scratch-and-sniff coating, as well as patterned remoistenable gluing.”
The Riverside Group also installed four film laminating machines with widths from 40” to 54”, improving their capabilities on large-format applications. Laminating films include polypropylene, nylon and polyester, which can be used to produce gloss and matte finishes.
“These film laminating and UV coating installations represent kept promises to our customers,” said Peter Pape, President. “They’ve asked us to provide a wider range of production options for these two services, and we listened. Our customers will also receive the added benefits of improved turnaround times and higher production quality.”
